Move Minutes in the Optimity app represents any type of physical intensity that gets you moving and classifies as light activity or above. This includes everything from light activities like a leisurely walk or casual bike ride, to more vigorous exercises such as sports and intense workouts.
Whether you’re engaging in a brisk walk, practicing a calming yoga session, participating in a game, or tackling household chores and yard work, Move Minutes tracks all these activities. It’s a comprehensive measure of your overall movement throughout the day, helping you stay motivated and aware of your physical activity levels.
How are Move Minutes calculated?
In the Optimity app, Move Minutes are calculated from the physical activity and steps recorded by your wearable device. To ensure accurate tracking, connect your device to Optimity and enable "active minutes tracking" and "steps tracking." You can connect a device to Optimity by:
- Tapping on your profile picture
- Tap on Integrations
- Select your device integration and follow the steps.
Note: The exact calculation may vary depending on the device vendor.
If you don’t have a wearable device, you can manually log your Move Minutes by tapping the Move Minutes tile on the Home Screen of the Optimity app and then tapping on Add Log. This allows you to keep track of all your physical activity, whether it's recorded automatically or entered manually.
The daily Move Minutes goal is 120 minutes. But don’t forget, Move Minutes doesn’t just account for exercise, it also takes into account daily activities that are classified as light physical activity or above. That means making the bed, eating, preparing food, and washing dishes also count – so sneak in those Move Minutes throughout your day!
