If your Fitbit isn't syncing properly, or your steps don't match, here is something you can try:
Turning on 'Location Services'
Due to new software updates, it is possible that your phone now requires you to turn on location services. You can do this under 'Settings' -> 'Privacy' -> 'Location Services'.
If that does not work, you may try turning on your location services through the Fitbit app itself. Here's how:
1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the exercise tile.
2. Tap on the stopwatch at the upper right corner.
3. When you're prompted, tap on "Enable Location Services".
4. Then, go to 'Settings' -> 'Apps' -> 'Fitbit'. Here, you'll have the Location Services settings again. Make sure to set it to Always when tracking GPS data.
Turning on 'Bluetooth'
Due to software updates, it is crucial that you also make sure that your Bluetooth is also enabled in 'Settings' -> 'Apps' -> 'Fitbit'
Syncing your Steps
We have recently updated our app to give users a much easier way to sync their steps from their Fitbit! All you have to do is simply 'pull down' on your home screen to not only refresh your homepage, but also sync your Fitbit steps with Optimity.
Syncing Delay
If your steps and/or devices are not syncing to Optimity, please wait for 5-10 minutes. There may sometimes be a delay in communication between the two devices.
Fitbit is Syncing, but with Discrepancies
Between your Fitbit and the app, please make sure that you have only the Fitbit integration enabled (not the Fitbit AND Apple Health integrations.). To check this, please do the following:
1. Tap on your profile (upper left of home screen)
2. Tap 'Integrations'.If you see an 'X' next to both Apple Health and Fitbit, please tap the 'X' next to 'Apple Health' to remove it.
Whether or not Apple Health was enabled before, you can also try the following steps:
1. Tap the 'X' next to 'Fitbit' to disconnect it.
2. Tap 'Connect' to connect it again.
